Messy Children

A few weeks ago Hannah wanted to make pudding pops.  I have a can of pudding from the church cannery and opened years ago and used it once.  I thought this would be a good time to use some of it up.  Hannah and I mixed it up and got them in the freezer.  The mess was still on the bar when Clay returned my Skype call and I got distracted.  Ellie was left on the bar with the big can of pudding mix.  She had a great time trying to eat the powder.  It reminds me of a picture of me when I was little and got flour everywhere while helping my mom.

Then yesterday Paul and I spent all day working outside.  We sprayed weeds, fixed sprinklers and on and on.  One project was connecting a hose bib up in the garden and then filling in a hole that my brothers left out by the sprinkler control box in the garden.  Paul turned the water on to help compact the soil.  Scott came along and decided to play in the mud.  Shortly after Ellie decided to join in.  My kids love anything to do with water and mud.  The pictures of Ellie also remind me of a picture of me at about the same age playing in grandpa Boomer's garden.

For Pauline

Grandma Pauline has told me that I need to update my blog and was tired of looking at the picture of snow.  This update is for her.  We were also tired of the snow and now are tired of the rain.

We have been busy trying to stay dry.  Among those rainy days there has been a nice one here and there.  One day Scott, Ellie and went to Willow Park and saw the creatures there.  The weather was nice for the Health Days parade which Hannah got to march in.  Shortly after that Scott graduated from preschool.  Ellie got two black eyes.  Each one from separate accidents.  One she fell at the park and hit the playground equipment and the other she hit the toy box while bouncing on a hippity hop ball.

I have finally got most of Boomers garden planted.  Hopefully it grows almost as well as when he is around.  Thanks to the new lawn mower, it will now take me about 2 hours to mow the lawn instead of 3 1/2 to 4.  Who wanted all this grass?

Scott is glad to be out of school and Hannah wished it never got over.  They are both enjoying summer break.  I will be glad when Scott starts speech again next week.  A few minutes of quiet time.

Grandma I hope this will do for a few months.  It might not get changed til school starts again.

A Long Day

Last night we took Ellie into Insta-Care.  She has croup and an ear infection.  I stayed home from church with her hoping I could catch up on a few things while she slept.  No luck.  She is not sleeping well.  I will be glad when she wants someone besides me 24/7.

Last week the kids were wearing shorts (not that it was that warm).  Today they are back in snowclothes.  That touch of nicer weather made the view outside this morning a little depressing.  Paul and I are very thankful for the use of Clay's snowblower.  Boomers did not like the heavy wet snow and with two driveways to clear I am glad I did not have to do it all with a snow shovel.

The Airport

Tomorrow it will be a week since we took my parent's to the airport.  Things went some besides the fact that my dad left his passport at the check-in counter.  The lady that helped them came and found us even before we went up to the security area.  We waited for them to make it through security to make sure there were no problems and there were not any.  I was very proud of myself.  I thought I was going to bawl my eyes out and I very shed a tear.  It must of been all the crying I did while they were in the MTC.  During that time people could not even mention them to me with out me crying.  I am doing much better now.  It has been very good to talk to them on Skype.

The Big Snowman

Paul took Hannah night skiing for his winter work party.  On their drive they saw this gigantic snowman.  The next day we took the drive to go and see it.  It really was big and the kids had fun climbing on it and exploring around it.

Hannah's Baptism

I am not very good at keeping this updated.  With my parents gone I will try to do a better job.

Since I last posted Hannah has been baptized.  Hannah looked beautiful and was so excited to be baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-saints.  She is such a good example to all those around her.  I am very thankful to have her as a daughter.  It was a wonderful day full of spending time with family.
